Ella had her bag of tricks with her, and had set things out ready for the ritual. She had the Blade of Orokiah in hand, and the Book of Orokiah was set out in case those who were helping seriously were going to question her on all this.

Cassie was once again taking her breakfast outside. The day was nice, so why the heck not.

She was settled in the light shade under one of the trees, with a slice of toast and some juice, enjoying the morning before it got too warm.

There was a man in a nice suit, sitting and enjoying himself the 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' special. But his bacon was not extra, extra crispy. He only liked his bacon with one extra in its crispiness.

As for his creepiness, well... he wasn't that creepy. He just looked as if he was... thinking about something. Or possibly waiting.

It was deathly quiet here. The water was still, and there was but one sign of anything amiss.

That sign was the glimpses of a body, floating in the shallows of the water.

The Worship Center had bells of course, they'd just never been used. But the groundskeeper explaned to Cadfael that the Sheriff had called with news about a missing girl and wanting to get everybody gathered in one place and could he help him find where to ring the bells?
